Work Starts on Five New Sites in 2019
Henderson Homes has ‘broken ground’ on five new residential developments in Cheadle, Poynton, Marple and St Helens in the first quarter of the year.
The award-winning family owned business, which specialises in high quality family focused and executive homes, has commenced work on 17 units with an overall GDV of circa £10million.
Further new developments are planned in Alderley Edge, Bramhall and Middlewich, where Henderson Homes has just achieved planning on Wheelock Street for 35 homes and apartments in a JV with McCarthy and Stone. Currently, the business is targeting an increase of 64% in the number of units it will produce this year, compared to 2018.
Says Managing Director, Max Henderson, “The business is going from strength to strength and we are keen to continue the year as we have started.
“The same ethos is at our core as when my grandfather started the business back in 1953, ‘to only ever build homes of exceptional standards of craftsmanship in locations where people want to live’. This is at the heart of everything we do, from handpicking the plots of land to ensuring sympathetic design and excellence in build. We want to take this ethos and expand into new areas, sustainably and without compromise,” he adds.
Following the off-plan sales success of The Lawns in Cheadle, Henderson Homes is crafting four semi-detached homes adjacent to a new tennis club on Barcheston Road. Each home provides 2,500 sq ft of high specification living space across three floors.
Also in Cheadle is a development of five homes on Brook Street, comprising one detached home and two pairs of semi-detached homes. The properties are aimed at young professionals and families and include off road parking and easy access to the M60 motorway network.
In St Helens, Henderson Homes is delivering three three-bedroom homes comprising a pair of semi detached and a detached. The development is on Bleak Hill Road in Windle, one of the most desirable locations in the area due to its close proximity to highly rated schools and transport links.
Other sites in Marple and Poynton represent an expansion into new geographical territories for the developer, which celebrates its 66th year in business this year and has predominantly operated in St Helens and the most affluent areas of South Manchester, including Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
In Marple, Henderson Homes is working on two large detached homes on Clifton Drive, an established residential area affording the properties a spacious plot with mature planting and open views over local countryside.
In Poynton, Henderson Homes has commenced work on a new development of four large detached homes in a prime location on Park Lane, right in the heart of the village.
