History

Henderson Homes was established in 1953 in Merseyside by Thomas Henderson, the current MD’s grandfather. It started out as a small joinery workshop in St. Helens and, thanks to a pioneering spirit and a reputation for doing ‘a good job properly’, expanded to include house building; at one point becoming one of the UK’s largest homebuilders.

Over the last six decades, the business has been steered through several economic downturns and the worst property crisis on record by sticking firm to Thomas’s original business principles; ‘to only ever build homes to exceptional standards of quality craftsmanship in locations where people want to live’.

Whilst continuing to provide new homes in its St Helen’s heartland, Henderson Homes has extended its area of operation to include handpicked plots in the most popular areas of Cheshire and South Manchester.

Henderson Homes was named as Best Boutique House Builder in the 2016 Grafters and has consistently received special commendations and finalist places in the annual Northern Design Awards and LABC ‘Built in Excellence’ Awards.
